Our Solutions

Integrated Capital Programs

We focus on filling capital gaps left by traditional financing with a range of funding options including tools such as direct investments, grantmaking, special purpose investment funds, and other custom programs.

Executive Overview

We need to move money differently.
We need new pathways.

If legacy structures and approaches were working, the complex social and environmental problems we seek to solve would be disappearing instead of growing.

The racial wealth gap continues to widen despite dozens of programs to increase economic security, there are more food pantries than McDonalds in the US, and only 36 affordable and available rental homes exist for every 100 extremely low-income renter households.

At Impact Charitable, we believe that bringing a range of tools to the table is the best way to catalyze change.

Coordinating the use of different forms of financial resources, including grants and investments, supports a larger range of solutions that can tackle problems in different ways. No one organization can solve an issue alone. No one source of capital is the answer to funding solutions.

Our partners —including individuals, foundations and government entities

—think less about the organizations they want to support and more about the specific problems they want to solve. They favor a systemic approach to achieving impact at scale using a range of tools to get there.

In order to activate a range of capital tools, Impact Charitable utilizes Special Purpose Funds.

These Funds accept capital in the form of grant and investment dollars, and the funds from the SPF are disbursed through a mix of regular grants, expenditure responsibility grants and multiple investment types including loans, revenue-based financing and even guarantees. This allows capital to be brought together in service of a particular mission or investment thesis and be disbursed through an integrated capital model.

Special Purpose Fund’s are driven by advisory committees.

Special Purpose Fund’s are driven by advisory committees comprised of people with experience and relationship to the issue and community being addressed. This moves the decision making closer to the problem and results in more impactful investments.

Sephora Accelerate

Sephora Accelerate is a brand incubation program dedicated to building a community of innovative, inspirational brand founders in beauty. With a focus on founders who are people of color, in line with the Sephora company commitment to the 15 Percent Pledge, the goal of this program is to ensure there are brands in the beauty industry representative of the colors, races, and ethnicities that make up the Americas.

The program includes a robust curriculum, mentorship, merchandising support, and investor connections to all involved. All participating brands will have the opportunity to launch at Sephora. In addition, the founders are able to access integrated capital in the form of grants and loans as needed to support their business growth. Our experienced team will work alongside the Founders and Sephora Accelerate team to provide the right kind of capital at the right time.

To date, Impact Charitable has moved $600,000 in integrated capital, a mix of low-interest loans and expenditure responsibility grants, to eight brands. These include Ries, EADEM, Hyper Skin, Kulfi, Range Beauty, Oui the People, Glosshood, Moodeaux, Shaz & Kiks, Brown Girl Jane and Of Other Worlds.
